Fun horse that needs to be brought back into work

Cragar is a very special horse seeking a new home. I have owned him for nearly 6 years and would have kept him for life if I had the opportunity. He has only had one previous owner besides the breeder, so all his history is available. I am enlisting in the military and therefore he is for sale. Competed up to 1.35m in show jumping and LA level in dressage, he knows all the movements and is a very well-trained horse. In recent years, he has mostly just trotted around with me in the lower classes. Unfortunately, he developed laminitis in early summer/late spring and was diagnosed with EMS (insulin resistant) at the same time. He is now receiving medication for this. He was also treated in the digital sheath VF, which we were about to start rehabilitating him from when he got laminitis. Our veterinarian is optimistic that he can make a full recovery from these issues, but it will naturally take time. Good to shoe, wash, load, etc. Does not like to be alone in a stall, but is fine in the aisle. Prefers a companion for trail rides but can go alone as well. He is an energetic horse who needs a calm and secure rider as he can become a bit stressed, which is usually not a problem, but it is more likely if he is under-stimulated or has been resting. Unfortunately, there is a 96-hour withdrawal period for his medication, so he is being sold as a luxurious hobby horse to someone who wants a nice and fun autumn without ambitions to compete.
