Cloud is a silver-bay champagne Rocky Mountain stallion, approximately 15.1hh (155cm), born in 2021. He is an easy-to-handle boy who loves to be involved in activities. He responds readily to small aids and naturally seeks a nice frame. He has a good trot and canter, and a very natural tölt. A true all-around horse, though slightly more reactive than many Rockies. Otherwise, here's an explanation that hopefully requires very little prior knowledge: He is a black horse who cannot produce chestnut offspring, regardless of the mare. In addition to black, he has three different genes that each lighten the coat slightly, making him so light. One is silver, which results in, for example, silver black (think chocolate brown body with a light mane and tail). Another is dun (like a Norwegian Fjord horse, though other breeds usually aren't as light as a Fjord) and then champagne, which is a rare American variant that on black produces a tone like a very dark champagne. Cloud carries one copy of each lightening gene, meaning a 50% chance of silver in the offspring, 50% for dun, and 50% for champagne. To be as light as Cloud, the foal must inherit all three variants.
